WE all have issues, WE all make mistakes. Whether we attempt to justify our choices, if they are wrong, they are wrong. It troubles me that we try to minimize our wrongs but maximize the wrongs of others. Categorizing our wrongs (sins) may help us fell better but it does not negate the fact that in the eyes of our Father, it is still wrong.
As Christians it appears we have a mental list of unapproved sins. Homosexuality is always at the top of the list while lying on our taxes is at the bottom (just an example). We even teach this methodology to our children and those starting their relationship with Christ. We also use scripture to validate our methodology. I love the Word of God and I believe as it is written but we cannot use scripture to condemn anyone. We reference Sodom and Gomorrah and the scripture you shall not lie with a male as with a woman, BUT we fail to mention liars will be consigned to the lake of fire and what about the Ten Commandments....
As I learn better I have to do better. I may laugh at a situation (not always the best thing and not in a negative way) but I sure will not judge. Why can't I judge; the same way I judge, God will judge me and I have enough stuff to stand in account for....
If you are without sin cast the first stone....this scripture is meant for us to look at ourselves.
I am looking at me and have realized, according to "methodology", I am good. No big sins, but according to salvation, I have much continued work to do. My fruit tree is lacking some very important fruit, my heart posture continually needs adjusting, and honestly, I don't always cast down those evil impure thoughts.....but God! He knows all about me (as my grandmother used to say).
Today, look in your mirror, examine yourself. Ask God to show you areas in which He wants to shape you. Work on removing your beam (revelation) so you can see more clearly, so you can see others as your sisters and brothers in Christ, not to judge them or ridicule them, but to love them whole heartedly. You have to work out your own soul salvation. The enemy wants us to focus on the shortcomings of others because it takes our focus away from working on our salvation. Stop falling for it. I encourage you for one day (why not today), do not mention anyone else's wrong, and watch a shift take place.
This is good stuff & I will use this!! 🙌🏿🙌🏿
