Friend: A person whom knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection
Friendship: State of mutual trust and support.
Having trustworthy friends is very important. I remember not being trustworthy. Friendship is one of the things I did wrong. I was always available but betrayed the trust of those who confided in me. Feelings of being inadequate, feelings of rejection, and a desire to belong led to my inability to maintain friendships.
I often think about the friends I have lost but I thank God for the friends I have. Friends I can count on, friends who can trust me.
Although we do not talk everyday and can only get together once a year, I value them and respect them. Each of my friends brings something to the table. Wisdom, Patience, Understanding, and loyalty. Iron sharpens iron; they improve me! A friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity. We love through good times and bad, when we are happy or sad..lol. In the midst of trouble we are there to support each other. We do not judge or look down on each other, now I laugh at our mess but we get through it together.
Value your friendships. Find ways to express love. Be available, be honest, and be trustworthy. Be their vault and their safe place.
Because of hurt from past friendships.. I never truly knew how to be a friend ! I continue to push people out my life in fear of being hurt ! I thank God for the true friends ( sisters) in my life who continue to love me & pursue our childhood friendship! Because of them I have also took on new friendships but with a better outlook because of my growth in the Lord!! Knowing God places everyone in you life for a purpose!! Love my Sisters!!
